If you look on google Earth, well on my google Earth, you will see lines and triangles, and dots. So how to we relate all of those signs? The way I will compare them is by looking at where the earthquakes and volcanoes are compared to where the plate boundaries are. Maybe volcanoes happen more frequently at a certain boundary. Same counts for the earthquakes.

The plate boundaries are divergent, convergent, transform, and undifined. These are the lines I was talking about earlier. Divergent boundaries are frequent and have only a couple volcanoes near them. That is kind of saying that they are the boundaries that are on the water most often. The Convergent line runs though land most often, meaning it can have a lot more volcanoes than the Divergent line. There is also a line called the transform boundary. The transform and divergent boundaries are usually together. This boundary too does not have all to much volcanoes.

Volcanoes are all areound the Earth. They are closet to the Transform boundary. Or in other words occour more frequently around transform boundaries. At this state all the volcanoes have a name. And there are a lot of volcanoes.

The divergent and the transform. boundaries run together usually. Then you also have the undifined boundary. Now why it is undifined is uknown to me. Maybe because they could not think of a name or they did not know why it was a boundary. Along that boundary there are hardly any volcanoes. Now As i look on google earth I can see that the volcanoes run through the ocean as well. Maybe there are islands, well I am guessing that there are but I can't see them from a far distance.

What I have learned is that there are different types of boundaries, which do different kinds of activities. There are also valcanoes and earthquakes all over our planet. Like seriously all over. There are tons of volcanoes on islands.
